A litte bit about the association:
The Association of Business Managers in Victorian State Schools is a Statewide organisation that has been in existence since the 1960's. The association has undertaken many name changes and developments over this period. Today we offer Educational Support officers who perform the Business, Finance or Personnel Management, from Primary, Secondary and Special Schools, the opportunity to be part of an Association that is in touch with your needs and has links with DEECD, and both the Primary and Secondary Principal's Associations.
The Association offers two Statewide meetings a year, generally in March and October. These meetings are beneficial in many ways as they provide professional development, topical speakers, and the Committee of Management reports on current issues. A 3-day Annual Conference is held in May each year and provides an opportunity for members to meet and share ideas in a relaxed learning environment, guest speakers and in-service professional development on current issues is provided.
This Association provides an opportunity for people with a common cause to come together, to gain support and knowledge from each other. The support that the members receive from each other is one of the great benefits.
Our Association recognises the workload issues currently facing school administration staff and takes very seriously its responsibility to inform DEECD of these concerns. If you feel that you too could benefit from our support, and wish to join our Association, you would be made very welcome, simply fill complete the application form and forward it to our office.
We currently have over 500 Members throughout Victoria, increasing our membership will not only improve our communication with our peers, but will also increase the influence we have with DEECD when dealing with current issues.
