MSP Photography Tasmania
Meet our team
Hi! We’re Steve and Rebecca Skinner, proud owners and chief flag bearers for MSP Photography Tasmania.
With the help of 11 talented and incredibly helpful staff members, we work with 135 schools across the state to capture the school moments of thousands of Tasmanian students.
As a rule, we place a premium on service and only employ people who understand this. Our team is motivated and we love what we do. That’s just one of the reasons we are considered Tasmania’s premium school photography supplier.
When we’re not busy making sure our clients are happy, we are keeping our team in shape. A healthy and happy bunch, the MSP Photography Tasmania team consumed approximately 1850 pieces of fruit during work hours in 2013. We’d like to think we could also represent Australia in pastry eating, so we spend each Friday morning tea in training. Everything in moderation, they say.
We travel in excess of 45,000km each year to service our valuable clients, which means we load and unload our work vans more than 500 times a year – that’s quite the workout.
We also say silly words like Nanna’s Knickers and Smelly Socks far more than the average person should, but having a giggle is all part of the fun of MSP Photography Tasmania.
About our business
We found MSP Photography when we were looking for a career change six years ago. It offered a great franchise opportunity and provided the chance to be a part of school communities, which as parents we’d come to value.
It has been a terrific decision and is a business we will proudly own and operate for many years to come.
We service the whole of Tasmania including Hobart, Smithton, Burnie, Penguin, Ulverstone, Latrobe, Devonport, Launceston, Scottsdale, Hobart, Queenstown and Flinders Island.
While we couldn’t tell you how many bugs we’ve cleaned from our windscreens over the past term alone, we know we’re doing out bit to keep the bug population on Tasmanian roads under control!
But it’s all worth it – we get a buzz when we’re thanked by teachers after their class photos have been taken and as schools book for next year’s photo day before they have even received this year’s photos. We also get a kick out of seeing each photo when it arrives back in the office from our specialist printing facility, knowing that these images will become treasured family keepsakes.
What our customers say
New Town High School has been utilising the services of MSP Photography for many years now, which indicates the respect and trust that has developed between us. The level of service, prompt follow-up and MSP Photography’s great range of products has allowed us to develop a strong working relationship with MSP and one that I believe will continue to flourish over the coming years.
Ian Cordwell, Assistant Principal, New Town High School
Everyone has been happy with their photos and there has not been one complaint. On the day the photographs were taken MSP staff set up near our front office and were very helpful taking enquiries and late orders, which took the pressure off our office staff at a busy time of the day. We had not had this benefit from our previous supplier. Considering this was our first year with MSP Photography, we are really happy and the process ran smoothly.
Andrea Miller, Business Manager, Table Cape Primary School
